Market Context

Volatility remains low, with VIX near 14.5 following continued compression. Premium remains limited despite occasional short-term volatility spikes.

SPY remains constructive while consolidating around its short-term moving averages. QQQ remains less directional, trading around clustered short-term moving averages.

The earnings calendar has thinned considerably after the recent reporting cycle. Oracle and Adobe provide the main concentrated technology event risk.

Monday’s holiday creates a shortened four-session trading week. The current environment calls for disciplined selection, patience, and cleaner setups.

Watchlist

AGGRESSIVE

WatchlistAggressive
TickerMSTR
Level$127.50
TriggerHold approximately $120–122 and establish a higher-low structure. A reclaim of roughly $132–135 would strengthen confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $114.
RiskStrong trend, but the rebound remains relatively advanced. Keep meaningful downside room on the strike.
TickerHOOD
Level$104.50
TriggerHold the $101–102 support area and recover approximately $107–108.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $96.
RiskTrend strength is adequate and the short-term overbought condition has reset. Failure of the $100–101 area would materially weaken the setup.
TickerCOIN
Level$184.64
TriggerHold approximately $173–176 and establish a higher low. A recovery through approximately $190–193 would provide stronger confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $169–170.
RiskStronger trend structure after the recent breakout, but volatility remains high and $193 is immediate resistance. Prefer strikes around or below the $170–175 support zone.

BALANCED

WatchlistBalanced
TickerPLTR
Level$174.33
TriggerHold approximately $170–172 around EMA21. A recovery through approximately $178–180 would provide stronger confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $164–165.
RiskStrong trend after the recent pullback, but deeper SMA50 support remains well below price. Prefer strikes around or below the $165 structural area.
TickerABNB
Level$189.50
TriggerPrefer a controlled retracement toward approximately $178–182 followed by support confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $177.50.
RiskStrong underlying trend, but price remains elevated following the breakout. Strike selection needs sufficient distance below spot.
TickerSNOW
Level$337.18
TriggerHold approximately $320–323 around EMA21 and confirm that the post-earnings decline is being absorbed. A recovery through approximately $345–350 would strengthen confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $310–312.
RiskThe pullback has improved entry structure, but large post-earnings candles keep volatility elevated. EMA34 near $311 provides the next support layer.
TickerDBX
Level$35.50
TriggerHold approximately $34–35 and maintain the current higher-low structure. A clean break above approximately $36 would strengthen continuation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $32.90.
RiskTrend structure remains constructive, but price is still extended from SMA50. Prefer CSP strikes near the $33–34 support region.

SAFE

WatchlistSafe
TickerSCHW
Level$110.00
TriggerHold approximately $108–109 and recover $111–112.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $106.50.
RiskStrong trend with normalized momentum and a clean moving-average support ladder. One of the cleaner assignment structures in the approved list.
TickerFDX
Level$331.00
TriggerHold approximately $324–327 and preserve the current higher-low structure.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $319.
RiskStrong trend with a clean EMA21/EMA34/SMA50 support ladder and comparatively comfortable assignment structure.
TickerROKU
Level$157.50
TriggerContinue holding approximately $154–155 and maintain the current consolidation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $150.
RiskStrong trend and clean moving-average alignment. Momentum is elevated but remains below the formal overbought threshold.
TickerPFE
Level$28.45
TriggerHold approximately $27.70–28.00 around EMA21 and the recent breakout zone. A recovery through approximately $28.80–29.00 would strengthen confirmation.
InvalidationDaily close below approximately $27.10.
RiskStrong trend with momentum reset after the recent advance. The pullback toward rising EMA21 improves assignment structure, with preference for strikes below the $27–28 support region.

What I Am Not Touching

No trades into earnings. The calendar is lighter, but Oracle, Adobe, and other scheduled reports still create concentrated event risk. Short-dated CSPs that overlap a report stay outside the process.

No chasing strength after a breakout. Several watchlist names remain constructive, but entries still need either a pullback toward support or confirmation that current levels can hold.

No premium-first entries. VIX remains near 14.5, while higher credits in individual high-volatility names still reflect underlying risk. Premium does not improve assignment quality.

No near-ATM CSPs without enough downside structure. Several candidates have strong trends, but the strike still needs to leave room between current price and the level where I actually want to own the shares.

No unnecessary expansion of exposure. Three new positions were opened last week and two CSPs remain active into September 11. New capital needs a cleaner setup, not simply another passing chart.

Process Note

Last week was active without requiring broad market volatility.

Three CSPs expired worthless, one covered call expired worthless, and three new positions were opened. CIFR, RDDT, and AKAM released their collateral without assignment, while INTC remained in the portfolio after its covered call expired below the strike.

SOFI moved back into covered-call management. ASTS and APLD added new CSP exposure after pullbacks created assignment levels I was willing to accept.

That matters going into this week. VIX remains compressed and the calendar is shorter, so there is less reason to force marginal premium.

The watchlist has several technically constructive names, but most still need something first: a pullback, support confirmation, or an option price that properly compensates for the ownership risk.

The objective remains the same.

Structure first.

Assignment price first.

Premium second.

No forced deployment.
